Position Summary
We’re looking for a Web / API Developer who will be responsible for the technical implementation of RTA’s new website, including CMS development, system integrations, and accessibility compliance. The Developer will build and optimize a secure, responsive website that integrates real-time transit data and supports RTA’s rider community.
This position also leads integration efforts for Swiftly, GTFS, Google Maps, and Paylocity ATS, ensuring full functionality of transit data tools and career portal access.
Web / API Developer Day-to-Day Activities:
- Develop, configure, and secure the website using WordPress or Drupal CMS.
- Integrate real-time data feeds (Swiftly API, GTFS, Google Maps) and Paylocity ATS for dynamic content and trip planning functionality.
- Build multilingual support, accessibility tools, and content feedback forms.
- Ensure site performance, load speed optimization, and CMS usability.
- Conduct code validation and assist in QA and accessibility testing.
- Support user training and provide technical documentation.

| DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS | Experience implementing or troubleshooting real-time data and mapping APIs (Swiftly, GTFS, or comparable). | Experience integrating HR systems or ATS platforms (Paylocity, Workday, etc.). | Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and version control (Git). | Certification in Web Development, CompTIA Web+, or equivalent. |
| SUITABILITY/SECURITY RQMTS | Must be authorized to work in the United States. | Successful completion of Ascension’s background and reference checks. |
