Ascension is seeking a Technical Specialist II specializing in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), workflow automation, and low-code platform development to support enterprise modernization initiatives through the design, configuration, implementation, and sustainment of automated business solutions.
The ideal candidate will help organizations transform manual, paper-based, and inefficient processes into streamlined digital workflows by leveraging automation technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, SharePoint, and other enterprise collaboration platforms.
This role is critical to helping clients improve mission support operations by analyzing business processes, identifying automation opportunities, configuring scalable solutions, and supporting users through technology adoption. The successful candidate will bring a combination of technical development skills and business process understanding, allowing them to translate operational challenges into practical technology solutions.

Summary of Contractor Role
The Technical Specialist II (RPA / Platform Support) provides technical expertise supporting the development, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of automation solutions and enterprise collaboration platforms.
The contractor will analyze business processes, document requirements, design workflow solutions, configure low-code applications, and support system enhancements that improve information management, reporting, and operational workflows.
The role requires an individual who can operate independently, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and work within an evolving technology environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable translating business requirements into technical solutions while maintaining attention to security, usability, governance, and long-term sustainability.
The contractor is expected to support activities such as:
- Developing robotic process automation solutions to reduce manual processing.
- Configuring workflow automation using Microsoft Power Platform technologies.
- Supporting SharePoint-based document management and collaboration environments.
- Performing requirements analysis and documenting system specifications.
- Enhancing existing applications, workflows, forms, dashboards, and automated processes.
- Supporting testing, validation, deployment, and user adoption activities.
This role aligns with Ascension’s capabilities supporting business process automation, SharePoint administration/development, Power Platform solutions, and technology-enabled process improvement. Ascension has supported federal mission organizations through workflow automation, SharePoint development, data analytics, and low-code solutions, including automation initiatives supporting acquisition, workforce management, reporting, and knowledge management functions.
Position Responsibilities / Expected Activities
The contractor may perform the following activities:
- Analyze existing business processes to identify automation opportunities, workflow improvements, and technology enhancements.
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain RPA solutions using appropriate automation platforms.
- Develop automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, and related Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Configure and maintain SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, permissions, workflows, pages, and collaboration features.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications supporting application development and enhancement.
- Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, user requirements, system documentation, and technical specifications.
- Configure automated approvals, notifications, data collection forms, and business rules.
- Develop and maintain Power Platform applications supporting mission processes, reporting, and collaboration.
- Integrate data sources and enterprise systems to support automated workflows and information sharing.
- Conduct system testing, user acceptance testing support, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
- Monitor automation performance, identify issues, and recommend improvements.
- Support deployment activities, including configuration management, release documentation, and user communications.
- Maintain technical documentation including system specifications, workflow designs, user guides, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers, analysts, business owners, and end users to ensure solutions meet mission needs.
- Provide technical recommendations related to platform upgrades, enhancements, and automation opportunities.
