Senior Financial Audit & Compliance Analyst 2026P-0722
Protect our Land, Ascend with Us!
Ascension is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Audit & Compliance Analyst to provide specialized federal financial management, audit-readiness, regulatory compliance, and remediation support to Headquarters United States Marine Corps Programs & Resources.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned federal financial management professional who understands how financial statement audit requirements translate into day-to-day operational requirements, documentation, controls, corrective actions, and defensible audit evidence. This individual should be equally comfortable interpreting federal financial regulations, working directly with accounting and financial management personnel, coordinating with auditors, responding to Provided-by-Client (PBC) requests, analyzing audit findings, and helping business owners implement corrective actions.
This role is particularly suited for someone who has worked within DoD financial management, federal financial statement audit, audit remediation, financial controls, or Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI)-supported environments and who can operate with limited supervision while advising senior government stakeholders.
The work directly supports the Marine Corps’ objective of maintaining accurate, timely, and defensible financial information and sustaining its audit posture. The RFA mission includes developing financial statements and supporting full financial statement audits through DAI data retrieval, documentation management, PBC response development, audit liaison support, and financial systems/process expertise. Summary of the Contractor Role
The Senior Financial Audit & Compliance Analyst serves as a senior subject matter resource supporting the Marine Corps Accounting and Financial Systems Branch (RFA) and Systems and Data Integration Division (SDI).
The Analyst evaluates financial management activities against applicable federal, DoD, Department of the Navy, and Marine Corps financial management requirements; assists government personnel with interpreting requirements; coordinates audit-related information and evidence; analyzes audit findings; and develops recommendations designed to strengthen financial reporting processes and internal controls.
The individual will be expected to work across accounting, financial systems, audit, compliance, and business-process stakeholders. The role requires someone who is analytical, highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable interpreting complex regulatory requirements, and capable of translating those requirements into practical corrective actions.
The individual should be self-directed and capable of managing multiple requests with different deadlines while maintaining appropriate documentation and audit trails. Strong written communication is especially important because PWS-requested Written Recommendations and Analyses for Specific Issues (WRASI) must contain detailed analytical findings and, where applicable, supporting industry or military citations.
