Ascension is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to support enterprise data transformation initiatives by converting complex data sources into actionable insights, reports, dashboards, and decision-support products. This position is ideal for a data professional who combines strong analytical skills with business process knowledge and understands how organizations use data to improve mission performance.

The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing large and complex datasets, developing enterprise-level reporting solutions, defining performance metrics, supporting data governance activities, and translating business needs into analytical solutions. The candidate should be comfortable working with stakeholders across business, technical, and leadership teams to identify challenges, recommend improvements, and deliver data-driven solutions.

Summary of Contractor Role

The Senior Data Analyst provides advanced analytical support to help organizations organize, analyze, visualize, and leverage enterprise data for improved decision-making. The position supports activities such as data analysis, reporting automation, dashboard development, KPI development, data quality assessment, business intelligence development, and requirements analysis.

The successful candidate will analyze information from multiple sources, identify trends and patterns, develop executive-level dashboards and reports, and provide recommendations that improve business operations. The role requires a detail-oriented professional who can independently manage analytical assignments, communicate findings clearly, and work effectively in environments with evolving priorities.

The Senior Data Analyst will support enterprise modernization initiatives involving data integration, document/data repositories, business intelligence, and reporting capabilities. Responsibilities may include developing analytics solutions that help organizations transform large volumes of structured and unstructured information into usable insights.

This position requires someone who can bridge the gap between technical data environments and business mission requirements by understanding stakeholder needs, defining analytical approaches, and delivering practical solutions.

Expected Day-to-Day Activities

• Analyze complex datasets from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, scorecards, and executive-level data visualizations using business intelligence tools.
• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions, reporting requirements, and data models.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with organizational objectives.
• Perform data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and quality assessments to improve data reliability.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to support operational decision-making and strategic planning.
• Develop data visualization products using tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership to define reporting needs.
• Document analytical methodologies, assumptions, findings, and recommendations.
• Support data governance activities including data standards, metadata management, and reporting consistency.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes using low-code/no-code solutions.
• Prepare executive briefings, analytical summaries, and presentation materials.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending data-driven solutions.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings, working groups, and technical discussions.
