Ascension LLC is seeking a Salesforce Release Manager / DevOps Lead to support enterprise cloud modernization and CRM platform services within a mission-critical federal environment. This role is central to ensuring stable, secure, and scalable Salesforce platform releases, supporting parallel development streams and 24/7 operational readiness.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, technically proficient DevOps leader with deep experience in Salesforce environments, CI/CD pipelines, and release governance. This individual will serve as the bridge between development, QA, security, and operations, ensuring seamless deployments while maintaining compliance with federal standards.

Position Summary
The Salesforce Release Manager / DevOps Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing application releases across the Salesforce ecosystem, ensuring minimal disruption to mission operations. The role requires oversight of release cycles, environment management, deployment automation, and governance processes.
The selected candidate will operate in a fast-paced, multi-release environment, supporting parallel development tracks and continuous integration pipelines. Success in this role requires strong technical leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate and resolve risks before they impact production.
The candidate must be self-driven, solutions-oriented, and capable of working in complex federal environments with minimal oversight, while maintaining alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance requirements.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Plan and manage end-to-end Salesforce release cycles across multiple environments (Dev, Test, UAT, Prod)
- Coordinate with developers, QA teams, and stakeholders to ensure release readiness
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins)
- Manage version control and branching strategies across parallel development efforts
- Oversee deployment activities, including scheduling, execution, rollback planning, and validation
- Monitor system performance post-release and resolve deployment-related issues
- Develop and enforce release governance, documentation, and standard operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal security and change management requirements
- Facilitate release readiness reviews and stakeholder communication briefings
- Automate deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors
- Support 24/7 operational coverage, including after-hours releases when required
- Identify risks and dependencies and implement mitigation strategies
