Ascension LLC is seeking a Salesforce Business Analyst (Functional) to support a mission-critical Customer Relationship Management (CRM) modernization initiative within a federal environment. This role is central to enabling enterprise CRM transformation, governance, and operational excellence by bridging business needs with Salesforce platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on analyst who thrives at the intersection of business operations, governance processes, and CRM system optimization. This individual will play a critical role in requirements analysis, stakeholder coordination, and governance lifecycle support, including onboarding/offboarding workflows and dormant application tracking.

This position is essential to ensuring that CRM capabilities are aligned with mission needs, compliance standards, and enterprise governance frameworks—directly impacting customer experience, data integrity, and operational efficiency.


Position Summary

The Salesforce Business Analyst (Functional) will support the design, analysis, and optimization of CRM business processes within a Salesforce environment. The role focuses on requirements elicitation, governance support, stakeholder engagement, and operational analysis to enhance system usability and mission alignment.

The candidate will leverage tools such as Salesforce, Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), and potentially ServiceNow or workflow automation tools, aligning with Ascension’s proven delivery ecosystem .


Day-to-Day Activities

  • Analyze and document business requirements for Salesforce CRM enhancements
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirements sessions
  • Support onboarding and offboarding governance processes for CRM users and applications
  • Track and manage dormant application usage and lifecycle status
  • Develop functional specifications, user stories, and process workflows
  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate requirements into system solutions
  • Conduct gap analyses and recommend process improvements
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and tracking tools to support decision-making
  • Coordinate across business units to ensure alignment with governance policies
  • Maintain documentation repositories, SOPs, and knowledge management artifacts
  • Support testing activities including UAT coordination and validation
  • Prepare executive briefings, reports, and stakeholder communications
