Microsoft Power Platform Instructor 2026P-0751
Protect our Land, Ascend with Us!
Ascension LLC seeks practical, engaging Microsoft instructors to support the Naval Supply Systems Command Workforce Development Division. You help federal employees automate routine work, turn data into useful reports and visuals, and apply analytics to everyday business decisions. We seek instructors who combine hands-on technical skill with the ability to explain concepts clearly to adult learners with varied experience.
Ascension provides program support, business intelligence, workflow automation, curriculum development and virtual training services. This opportunity supports thirteen virtual instructor-led courses: four Power Automate courses, four Power BI courses and five Data Analytics courses, each for approximately 20–25 federal employees. You may teach one or more tracks according to your demonstrated expertise; each instructor does not need to cover every track.
Role summary
You prepare and deliver hands-on lessons, demonstrations, learner guides and exercises that help employees apply Microsoft tools at work. Power Automate instruction addresses routine workflows and application integration. Power BI instruction helps learners turn raw data into interactive reports and visuals over two days. Data Analytics instruction addresses collecting, sorting, interpreting and presenting data using Excel, Power Apps and other relevant Microsoft tools.
You also coordinate assigned classes with Ascension and NAVSUP points of contact, distribute materials and access instructions at least one week before each class, and assist learners with virtual access. The ideal instructor is organized, self-directed and patient; anticipates technical obstacles; manages changing schedules; and adapts explanations without losing the learning objectives. Your focus is workforce training rather than ongoing production-system development.
Expected activities
Coordinate learning objectives, learner prerequisites, course dates and delivery logistics with Ascension and NAVSUP technical points of contact.
Develop or adapt agendas, presentation decks, learner guides, demonstration files and hands-on exercises for assigned courses.
Test software access, sample datasets, workflows and lab instructions before delivery; use approved demonstration data and environments.
Provide course materials and virtual access instructions to the designated points of contact or participants at least one week before the class.
Deliver live demonstrations and guided practice to groups of approximately 20–25 employees across multiple time zones.
Teach Power Automate triggers, actions, connectors and practical workflow troubleshooting when assigned the automation track.
Teach Power BI data preparation, modeling and interactive reporting when assigned the BI track; explain Power Query and appropriate DAX concepts at the learner’s level.
Teach data collection, cleaning, interpretation, Excel analysis and visual storytelling when assigned the analytics track; demonstrate relevant Power Apps examples as appropriate.
Assist participants with joining the virtual environment, navigating exercises and resolving common access or learning issues.
Monitor learner understanding, adjust pacing and explain technical concepts in plain language using relevant business scenarios.
Maintain assignment records, communicate delivery issues and availability, and coordinate approved schedule changes through Ascension.
