Position Summary
The Junior Technical Support / GIS / Graphic Design Specialist provides entry-level professional technical support across transportation and environmental planning efforts. Working under the supervision of senior staff, this role supports data collection, GIS mapping, visual design, and stakeholder communication materials development.
The candidate will assist in translating technical data into maps, dashboards, graphics, and outreach materials that are used in planning studies, environmental documentation, and public involvement campaigns. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and the capability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Tools and Technologies May Include:

Day-to-Day Activities
- Support development of GIS maps, spatial analyses, and geodatabases for transportation and environmental planning projects
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from multiple sources for analysis and reporting
- Create visual products such as infographics, maps, charts, and presentation materials for stakeholder engagement
- Support development of public outreach materials, including flyers, presentations, and web content
- Assist in preparing technical reports, documentation, and planning deliverables
- Collaborate with planners, engineers, and project managers to translate technical requirements into visual outputs
- Maintain version control and organization of project files, datasets, and design assets
- Support stakeholder meetings by preparing materials, taking notes, and documenting action items
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across data and visual products
- Assist with updating dashboards, SharePoint sites, or internal tracking tools
