Ascension LLC is seeking a Junior Facilitator to support transportation planning initiatives, stakeholder engagement efforts, and organizational performance improvement activities. This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career professional who thrives in structured yet dynamic environments and is passionate about facilitating collaboration, supporting data-driven decision-making, and improving public-sector operations.

The Junior Facilitator plays a critical role in ensuring that meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements are well-organized, productive, and outcome-driven, directly supporting transportation program success. This individual will contribute to multi-agency coordination, process improvement initiatives, and data-informed facilitation, helping clients translate discussions into actionable strategies.

This position is essential to achieving the client’s mission by ensuring that transportation-related planning efforts, coordination activities, and improvement initiatives are executed efficiently, transparently, and collaboratively.


Position Summary

The Junior Facilitator supports the design and execution of facilitation sessions, stakeholder meetings, and training activities within transportation planning and program management environments. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive professional who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and responsiveness.

The ideal candidate brings strong communication, analytical, and coordination skills, along with the ability to operate effectively in environments that require cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder alignment, and structured problem-solving.

This individual will:

  • Support meeting facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and inter-agency coordination
  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives using structured methodologies
  • Help design and execute training sessions and facilitation activities

The Junior Facilitator is expected to be:

Tools & Technologies

  • Power BI or Tableau (data visualization support)
  • Process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, or equivalent)

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder sessions in support of transportation planning initiatives
  • Prepare meeting agendas, briefing materials, and facilitation guides
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, including scheduling, materials distribution, and stakeholder communication
  • Document meeting outcomes, action items, and key decisions
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to support planning and decision-making
  • Support mediation and multi-stakeholder problem-solving sessions
  • Assist in inter-agency coordination and communication efforts
  • Develop presentations, reports, and briefing materials for leadership
  • Support process improvement initiatives using process mapping and workflow analysis
  • Conduct research and gather data to inform transportation planning efforts
  • Assist in designing and delivering training sessions and facilitation activities
  • Track action items and follow-ups to ensure accountability and progress
