Ascension, LLC is seeking a Human Capital & Stakeholder Engagement Specialist to support the New Mexico Office of Cybersecurity under the SLCGP initiative. This role focuses on stakeholder engagement, workforce pipeline research, training/recruitment/retention analysis, and provider database creation. The position will design and conduct stakeholder interviews and surveys across local governments, tribal entities, K–12, and higher education institutions, and translate findings into actionable insights for workforce development.

Human Capital & Stakeholder Engagement Specialist Day-to-Day Activities

  • Design and conduct stakeholder interviews and surveys across participating entities.
  • Lead analysis of workforce training, recruitment, and retention challenges.
  • Research and document training/recruitment providers, building a structured database of available resources.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager & Workforce Analyst to integrate findings into the statewide workforce gap analysis.
  • Support the development of remediation recommendations and contribute to the final Project Completion Report.
  • Provide communications and engagement support to ensure stakeholder perspectives are incorporated into deliverables.

Job Features

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Education, or related field. | Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings. | Excellent written and oral communication skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS5+ years of experience in workforce development, human capital management, or training program analysis.
TECHNICAL SKILLSExperience conducting stakeholder interviews, focus groups, or survey-based research. | Proficiency with MS Office Suite and survey/data collection tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s degree in Human Capital Management, Public Policy, or Education. | Prior experience supporting cybersecurity or IT workforce initiatives. | Familiarity with the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework. | Experience building provider or workforce development databases. | Demonstrated ability to engage diverse stakeholders across government, tribal, and education sectors.
SUITABILITY/SECURITY RQMTSMust be eligible to work in the United States. | May be subject to State of New Mexico background check depending on participating entity requirements. | No federal clearance required.
