Ascension LLC is seeking a senior-level acquisition leader to serve as the Contractor Program Manager supporting the United States Air Force, Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), 18th Contracting Squadron.
This role is critical to the success of the contract. The selected candidate will provide executive-level oversight and management of acquisition support personnel performing functions substantially similar to a GS-12, 1102 Contract Specialist.
We are seeking a disciplined, mission-focused acquisition professional who:
- Understands the operational tempo of a high-volume Air Force contracting squadron
- Can manage distributed acquisition professionals working remotely
- Has the confidence and technical expertise to interface directly with Contracting Officers (COs) and Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs)
- Possesses strong FAR-based acquisition lifecycle expertise
- Demonstrates leadership, accountability, and quality control discipline
This individual will ensure all acquisition support services are delivered in accordance with the PWS, Air Force acquisition policies, FAR, supplements, and local guidance.
Position Summary
The Contractor Program Manager will support the Department of the Air Force, United States Air Force, Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), 18th Wing, 18th Contracting Squadron (18 CONS) located at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan.
This position directly supports the 18th Contracting Squadron, which provides acquisition services enabling the 18th Wing to execute its operational mission. The Program Manager will serve as Ascension’s senior acquisition lead responsible for managing contractor-provided acquisition support services to 18 CONS.
The Contractor Program Manager will coordinate directly with:
- The 18 CONS Contracting Officer (CO)
- The 18 CONS Contracting Officer Representative (COR)
- Government acquisition personnel within the 18th Contracting Squadron
The role ensures full contract performance in support of 18 CONS procurement operations, including acquisition planning, solicitation development, source selection support, contract administration, modifications, invoice review, and closeout activities, in strict accordance with Air Force acquisition policies, FAR, supplements, and local contracting guidance.
This position requires leadership over contractor Contract Specialists performing work substantially similar to GS-12 1102 acquisition professionals, ensuring compliance, timeliness, and quality across the full acquisition lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience supporting Air Force or DoD contracting squadrons and possess the operational maturity required to support an overseas Major Command environment operating on Japan Standard Time.
