Ascension LLC is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Acquisition Compliance Auditor to support federal acquisition audit readiness, procurement documentation validation, contract compliance reviews, and quality assurance activities within a Department of Defense and Department of the Navy mission environment.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned federal acquisition professional with experience supporting procurement operations, contract administration reviews, audit preparation activities, acquisition lifecycle compliance assessments, and documentation quality validation. This individual will serve as a secondary reviewer and trusted advisor responsible for validating acquisition files, identifying compliance gaps, supporting corrective actions, and helping ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, agency policy, and audit requirements.

This role is critical to helping the customer improve acquisition accountability, reduce procurement risk, strengthen audit readiness, and ensure the integrity and defensibility of acquisition documentation and business processes. The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating in a dynamic federal environment with competing priorities, evolving guidance, and compressed timelines.

The successful candidate will bring strong organizational skills, exceptional written communication abilities, sound professional judgment, and the ability to independently analyze procurement documentation while collaborating effectively with acquisition teams, CORs, program staff, and leadership stakeholders.


Position Summary

The Acquisition Compliance Auditor will provide acquisition audit support, procurement compliance analysis, secondary review services, and quality validation activities in support of federal acquisition operations. Responsibilities include reviewing acquisition packages, validating procurement documentation, assessing compliance with federal regulations and internal procedures, supporting audit response efforts, and identifying process improvement opportunities.

This role supports mission-critical acquisition operations by helping ensure that procurement activities are accurate, compliant, well-documented, and audit-ready. The consultant will participate in acquisition reviews across multiple stages of the acquisition lifecycle, including pre-award, post-award, contract administration, and contract closeout activities.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional who can anticipate issues, identify compliance risks, synthesize complex acquisition information, and provide practical recommendations to improve operational effectiveness. Candidates should possess experience supporting federal acquisition programs and demonstrate the ability to interpret FAR/DFARS requirements, analyze procurement documentation, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Candidates should also possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple concurrent assignments, and adapt quickly to evolving customer priorities. Experience supporting audit remediation efforts, acquisition quality reviews, COR program oversight, or procurement operations within DoD or DHS environments is highly desirable.

Day-to-Day Activities and Responsibilities

  • Review acquisition and procurement documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency policies, and internal procedures
  • Conduct secondary reviews and quality assurance checks of acquisition packages, contract files, modifications, procurement requests, and supporting documentation
  • Analyze procurement actions to identify documentation deficiencies, inconsistencies, risks, or compliance gaps
  • Support audit readiness efforts through acquisition file validation, documentation organization, and corrective action tracking
  • Evaluate contract administration activities to ensure adherence to established acquisition policies and procedures
  • Assist acquisition teams with resolving procurement compliance issues and documentation discrepancies
  • Develop audit support materials, status reports, briefing documents, compliance summaries, and acquisition review findings
  • Validate contract action trackers, milestone schedules, and procurement documentation repositories
  • Support acquisition lifecycle activities including pre-award planning, post-award administration, and contract closeout reviews
  • Collaborate with program managers, contracting personnel, CORs, legal stakeholders, and leadership teams to support acquisition compliance initiatives
  • Track and document audit findings, recommendations, lessons learned, and remediation activities
  • Support quality control reviews for acquisition deliverables and procurement documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve acquisition processes, workflows, and compliance monitoring procedures
  • Assist with the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates, checklists, and quality review frameworks
  • Participate in meetings, working groups, audit reviews, and stakeholder coordination sessions
  • Support surge activities associated with procurement reviews, compliance assessments, and audit response deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of procurement-sensitive information and government records
  • Prepare and deliver concise written and verbal briefings to leadership and stakeholders
