Ascension LLC seeks a Senior Budget Analyst to provide comprehensive financial management and analytical support to the Federal Protective Service (FPS) Region 9 Resource Management Branch (RMB) in San Francisco, CA. This position plays a key role in executing and monitoring accounting and budget activities across FPS programs, ensuring fiscal integrity, compliance, and operational excellence in support of FPS’s critical infrastructure protection mission.

Senior Budget Analyst Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support FPS regional financial and senior staff in the analysis, tracking, and management of accounting functions within the Federal Financial Management System (FFMS).
  • Perform reconciliations, fund certifications, and expenditure tracking to ensure data accuracy and alignment with DHS financial policies.
  • Review invoices for multimillion-dollar contracts, verify funds availability, and facilitate payment processing in accordance with FPS and DHS standards.
  • Prepare and maintain financial documentation and audit-ready records, including FM151 vendor payment reconciliation reports.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial summaries and assist in execution and closeout of appropriations.
  • Analyze regional spending patterns, track SWA (Security Work Authorization) obligations, and support the development of budget projections and spend plans.
  • Draft budget justifications, cost reclassification requests, and unfunded security countermeasure packages.
  • Maintain financial data and reports in systems including Webview, RMS, and FFMS, generating management reports for senior leadership.
  • Perform data validation, trend analysis, and assist in process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support FPS management with travel document processing in Concur, invoice corrections, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with CORs, contracting, and budget teams to support documentation, execution, and reconciliation of financial actions.
