Ascension LLC seeks an experienced federal acquisition leader to manage an embedded contractor team and provide senior contracting expertise at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. You help the Navy acquire the supplies, services, equipment, and information technology needed to maintain, repair, and modernize LOS ANGELES and VIRGINIA Class submarines. Your leadership helps the customer complete complex procurement actions accurately, on time, and in accordance with federal and command requirements.
This role suits a contracting professional who combines acquisition judgment with hands-on program management, government supervisory experience, strong analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to train others. You bring both the required contracting certification and the required advanced program management certification.
Role Summary and Work Arrangement
You lead Ascension’s onsite acquisition support operations, allocate workload, supervise contractor staff, oversee quality, and coordinate performance with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and Technical Point of Contact (TPOC). The team totals eight personnel in the base period and eleven in the option period, including this position. You also perform and review complex acquisition work from requirements development through contract administration and closeout.
You are organized, self-directed, customer-oriented, and comfortable managing competing priorities with limited supervision. You anticipate documentation gaps, workload constraints, pricing issues, and schedule risks; develop practical solutions; communicate clearly under pressure; and maintain professional judgment when handling sensitive procurement information. Government officials retain contracting authority and final decisions.
Work onsite at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. Telework requires government concurrence and may be denied or ended; it is not guaranteed.
Work a 40-hour week, less government holidays and shipyard curtailment days. Daily schedules fall within 6:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday–Friday, with no more than eight work hours per day and a half-hour lunch. Coordinate manager or alternate coverage across the required availability window.
Support an anticipated base period of November 3, 2026–November 2, 2027, with one option year subject to exercise. Estimated role hours are 1,984 in the base period and 2,008 in the option period. Dates remain subject to the awarded order.
Expect no routine contract travel; any required travel is subject to government modification.
