The successful candidate will be comfortable working with large, complex datasets; developing analytical models; creating intuitive visualizations; and translating technical findings into meaningful recommendations for government stakeholders and mission leaders.

Summary of the Contractor Role

The GIS & Advanced Analytics Specialist provides specialized analytical support involving geospatial analysis, predictive analytics, statistical modeling, data visualization, and advanced data science techniques.

The contractor will support clients by analyzing complex datasets, identifying trends and anomalies, developing predictive models, and producing visual products that communicate analytical findings to technical and executive audiences.

The role requires an individual capable of working across the full analytical lifecycle, including:

• Data discovery and acquisition
• Data cleaning and preparation
• Geospatial analysis and modeling
• Statistical analysis

Position Responsibilities / Expected Activities

The GIS & Advanced Analytics Specialist will:

• Analyze complex geospatial and operational datasets to identify trends, relationships, and risk indicators.
• Develop GIS-based analyses utilizing spatial data, linear-feature datasets, mapping technologies, and geographic visualization techniques.
• Perform advanced statistical analysis to identify patterns, correlations, anomalies, and emerging trends.
• Design predictive analytics models supporting forecasting, risk identification, and operational decision-making.
• Apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing techniques where appropriate to enhance analytical capabilities.
• Cleanse, transform, and validate structured and unstructured datasets to improve data quality and reliability.
• Integrate data from multiple sources to support enterprise analytics and reporting objectives.
• Develop analytical models and methodologies to support risk assessment, prioritization, and performance improvement.
• Create dashboards, visualization products, and analytical reports using modern visualization platforms.
• Interpret complex analytical outputs and communicate findings through presentations, technical reports, and executive briefings.
• Support data governance activities by documenting data sources, assumptions, methodologies, and analytical processes.
• Collaborate with technical teams, subject matter experts, and government stakeholders to define analytical requirements.
• Document analytical approaches, model assumptions, methodologies, results, and recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by evaluating analytical processes, tools, and emerging technologies.
