Ascension is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operations Analyst to support federal mission programs through performance analysis, operational assessments, risk identification, and data-driven decision support. The ideal candidate will help government stakeholders understand program performance, identify improvement opportunities, manage operational risks, and develop actionable recommendations that support mission objectives.

This role is suited for a professional who combines analytical thinking with strong communication skills and can translate complex operational data into meaningful insights for program managers and senior leaders. The successful candidate should be comfortable working across business, technical, and program environments; gathering information from multiple sources; evaluating processes; developing performance metrics; and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The candidate will support federal programs requiring disciplined analysis, stakeholder coordination, performance reporting, and risk management support. Experience supporting government programs, acquisition activities, information technology initiatives, or organizational transformation efforts is highly valued.


Summary of Contractor Role

The Operations Analyst provides analytical and management consulting support to assist government organizations in improving program performance, operational effectiveness, and mission outcomes.

The contractor will perform operational research, collect and analyze program data, develop performance metrics, identify risks, support requirements analysis, and prepare executive-level reporting products. The role requires the ability to evaluate business processes, identify gaps, document findings, and provide recommendations that support informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional who can work independently with limited supervision, manage multiple priorities, collaborate with government stakeholders, and produce high-quality analytical deliverables.

The Operations Analyst will support activities such as:

Position Responsibilities / Expected Activities

The contractor will:

  • Analyze program operations, workflows, processes, and performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze quantitative and qualitative information from multiple sources, including databases, reports, interviews, surveys, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, scorecards, and reporting products.
  • Conduct operational assessments and provide recommendations to improve program execution, resource utilization, and mission outcomes.
  • Support requirements elicitation activities by interviewing stakeholders, documenting business needs, and translating findings into actionable requirements.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation recommendations, tracking identified issues through resolution.
  • Prepare analytical reports, executive briefings, presentations, decision papers, and program status updates.
  • Facilitate Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings, working groups, and stakeholder sessions.
  • Support acquisition lifecycle activities through market research, requirements analysis, cost analysis, and program documentation.
  • Develop process maps, workflow documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and business improvement recommendations.
  • Review existing processes and systems to identify opportunities for automation, modernization, and improved data visibility.
  • Collaborate with program managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure analytical products address mission needs.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSFederal contracting experience supporting DoD, DHS, DOJ, DOE, or other government agencies. | Experience supporting program management offices (PMOs), enterprise initiatives, or transformation efforts. | Experience developing Power BI dashboards, Tableau reports, or other business intelligence solutions. | Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate). | Experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum, or PMBOK-based project management practices. | Experience developing risk registers, performance measurement frameworks, and executive reporting packages. | Experience supporting business process reengineering (BPR), organizational change initiatives, or workflow automation. | PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Lean Six Sigma, or similar professional certification.
