Ascension is seeking a high-performing Salesforce Technical Architect (CTA Preferred) to lead enterprise-level architecture, governance, and innovation initiatives supporting a mission-critical Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform within a federal environment.

This role is essential to ensuring that Salesforce capabilities are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with DHS enterprise architecture standards. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across Salesforce platforms and a strong ability to translate mission needs into sustainable, future-ready solutions.

The successful candidate will be a strategic technologist and hands-on architect who thrives in complex environments, can guide cross-functional teams, and ensures that platform changes are coordinated, governed, and aligned with long-term modernization goals.


Position Summary

The Salesforce Technical Architect will serve as the senior technical authority for Salesforce architecture, integration, and governance, supporting enterprise CRM capabilities across multiple stakeholders and mission areas.

This role focuses on:

  • Enterprise-level architecture design and governance
  • Change coordination across Salesforce environments
  • Technology innovation and continuous improvement
  • Technical analysis, reporting, and documentation (including POCs)

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Lead enterprise Salesforce architecture design across CRM components, integrations, and data models
  • Define and enforce architecture governance frameworks, standards, and best practices
  • Coordinate and oversee enterprise-level Salesforce environment changes
  • Conduct technical analysis and system impact assessments for new requirements and enhancements
  • Design and validate scalable, secure, and compliant Salesforce solutions
  • Develop and review architecture artifacts, technical documentation, and POCs
  • Collaborate with program managers, developers, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission needs
  • Lead integration design across external systems and enterprise platforms
  • Evaluate and recommend technology innovations and enhancements to improve CRM performance and user experience
  • Support DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and release management processes
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for system performance, security, and scalability
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams and junior architects
  • Participate in architecture review boards and governance forums
  • Ensure compliance with federal security standards and data governance requirements

Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field | 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in Salesforce architecture
Required SkillsActive Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) OR ability to obtain (preferred but not required at hire)| Strong experience with: Salesforce platform architecture (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud)| Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce | Salesforce integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware platforms)

Desired SkillsActive Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) (Highly Preferred) | Additional Salesforce certifications (Application Architect, System Architect) | Experience supporting DHS or other federal agencies Familiarity with: MuleSoft or other integration platforms| Enterprise data platforms and analytics tools Agile and SAFe methodologies| Experience supporting enterprise cloud modernization initiatives | Strong background in technology innovation and proof-of-concept (POC) development | Master’s Degree in a related field
