At Ascension LLC, we are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized Junior Contract Specialist to join our team in support of the U.S. Coast Guard’s (USCG) Contracting & Procurement (C&P) enterprise. Role Overview
As a Junior Contract Specialist, you will support the USCG by assisting in procurement and contracting activities that directly contribute to national security efforts. From pre-solicitation to post-award contract administration, your responsibilities will span the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with federal regulations. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver, capable of navigating complex procurement processes with minimal supervision while also working collaboratively with contract specialists, project managers, and other key stakeholders.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support Pre-Solicitation and Market Research: Assist with market research, FAR Part 6 Justifications, RFIs, and Sources Sought.
- Manage Solicitation Documentation: Assist in preparing solicitation documents and respond to questions from vendors.
- Contract Administration: Track and manage contract deliverables, process invoices, and ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contracts.
- Post-Award Support: Assist in contract closeout activities, including reviewing invoices, preparing final reports, and ensuring all deliverables are met.
- File Inventory Control: Manage both electronic and physical contract files through the ECFS system and ensure all necessary documentation is available for government review.
- General Administrative Support: Provide scheduling and office support to senior leadership, including calendar management, preparing briefing books, and assisting with travel arrangements.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work alongside senior contract specialists and project managers to deliver timely and efficient contracting support.
