Ascension LLC is seeking a Senior Defense Strategy & Planning Advisor to support U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) analytical planning efforts. This role provides senior-level expertise in campaign planning, contingency operations, and strategic analysis to inform decision-making across complex defense and national security missions.

The selected candidate will lead high-impact analytical efforts, develop actionable strategic recommendations, and directly support senior military and civilian leadership. This role requires a deep understanding of DoD planning processes (e.g., JPP, OPLAN/CONPLAN development), regional security dynamics, and interagency coordination.

Key Responsibilities (Role Summary)

The Senior Defense Strategy & Planning Advisor leads analytical planning efforts across operational and strategic domains, supporting USCENTCOM mission priorities through rigorous analysis, planning integration, and stakeholder coordination.


Day-to-Day Activities

  • Lead development of campaign, contingency, and crisis planning products (e.g., OPLANs, CONPLANs, Annexes)
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on operational analysis and intelligence inputs
  • Conduct mission analysis, course of action (COA) development, and war-gaming support
  • Interface with Combatant Command staff, Joint Staff, interagency partners, and coalition stakeholders
  • Validate and review analytical models, simulations, and operational assessments
  • Synthesize complex data into briefings, executive reports, and decision-support products
  • Support Integrated Planning Teams (IPTs) and Joint Planning Groups (JPGs)
  • Analyze regional threats, posture, and force employment strategies
  • Ensure alignment with DoD doctrine, planning guidance, and national security objectives
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing across the program

Sustainability RequirementsActive Top Secret (TS) clearance required | Eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access preferred
