Ascension LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Engineering Support Specialist to support transportation planning and engineering initiatives for a public sector client. This role is critical to executing technical transportation studies, supporting infrastructure planning decisions, and delivering data-driven insights that inform policy, program development, and capital investments.

Position Summary
The Engineering Support Specialist provides professional-level technical support in the execution of transportation planning studies and engineering analyses under the guidance of senior staff. The role requires working knowledge of transportation systems, infrastructure design principles, and analytical tools used to evaluate system performance and future demand.

Key Responsibilities / Day-to-Day Activities
- Conduct transportation planning and engineering analyses to support project objectives
- Perform traffic analysis, capacity analysis, and travel demand forecasting
- Support development of transportation plans, reports, and technical documentation
- Analyze multimodal transportation systems, including roadway, transit, pedestrian, and bicycle networks
- Evaluate infrastructure performance and recommend improvements
- Compile, clean, and analyze transportation datasets from multiple sources
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and visualizations
- Support traffic impact studies and transportation modeling efforts
- Review transportation policies, plans, and regulatory guidance
- Collaborate with project teams, planners, and engineers to support deliverables
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide technical input as needed
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness of all analytical outputs
