Ascension LLC is seeking a highly analytical and impact-driven Evaluation Specialist to support a mission-critical learning and workforce development initiative. This role is essential to ensuring that training and leadership development programs are not only delivered effectively, but also measured, validated, and continuously improved based on data-driven insights.
The ideal candidate is a learning evaluation expert with deep experience applying Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation, developing performance metrics, and translating training outcomes into measurable business impact. This individual will play a critical role in helping the client understand what is working, what is not, and how to optimize learning investments for maximum return.
This position is best suited for professionals with strong backgrounds in program evaluation, learning analytics, organizational performance measurement, and data-driven decision-making, particularly within complex, fast-paced environments.
Position Summary
The Evaluation Specialist will design, implement, and manage a comprehensive evaluation framework aligned to Kirkpatrick Levels 1–4, including reaction, learning, behavior, and results. The role will support the development and execution of pre- and post-assessments, pulse surveys, 30/60/90-day reinforcement evaluations, and ROI proxy measures to assess training effectiveness and organizational impact.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-driven professional who thrives in ambiguous environments and can translate complex data into actionable insights. They must be capable of working independently while collaborating with instructional designers, SMEs, and program leadership.
This role requires expertise in:

The Evaluation Specialist will leverage tools such as Excel, Power BI, survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey), and Microsoft 365 tools to collect, analyze, and report on performance data.
This role directly supports the client’s ability to measure training effectiveness, improve workforce capability, and demonstrate return on investment for learning initiatives, aligning with Ascension’s strengths in data analytics, performance management, and training evaluation .
Day-to-Day Activities
- Design and implement evaluation strategies aligned to Kirkpatrick Levels 1–4
- Develop pre- and post-training assessments to measure knowledge acquisition
- Conduct pulse surveys and longitudinal evaluations (30/60/90-day follow-ups)
- Analyze training data to assess behavioral change and performance outcomes
- Develop ROI proxy measures to estimate training effectiveness and business impact
- Create dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI and Excel
- Collaborate with instructional designers and SMEs to align evaluation with learning objectives
- Facilitate data collection efforts across stakeholders and program participants
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across evaluation activities
- Support development of KPIs and performance measurement frameworks
- Document evaluation methodologies, tools, and results
