Ascension LLC is seeking a Strategic Planning & Customer Experience Support Specialist to support the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) in executing a phased strategic planning engagement focused on defining and advancing MVA’s shared organizational vision and premier customer experience strategy.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytically strong, and highly organized consultant who thrives in structured yet dynamic environments and can support executive-level facilitation efforts with precision and professionalism.

While the Lead Facilitator drives strategic direction and the Strategic Planning Analyst synthesizes enterprise insights, this role ensures:

• Operational coordination
• Structured documentation
• Deliverable quality control
• Executive-ready presentation materials
• Research support tied to customer experience strategy

The selected candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that MVA’s Executive Leadership and Management alignment sessions result in clear, professional, and actionable strategic deliverables.


Position Summary

The Strategic Planning & Customer Experience Support Specialist will directly support the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) in executing a phased strategic planning engagement designed to establish a shared organizational vision and define a Premier Customer Experience framework for both internal and external stakeholders.

This role will support MDOT MVA Executive Leadership and Management alignment sessions and assist in the development of required deliverables, including:

• Facilitation Plan and Draft Meeting Agendas
• Executive Leadership Vision Summary
• Leadership and Management Alignment Summary
• Draft and Final Strategic Roadmap
• Final Presentation Materials
• Optional Strategic Customer Service Training Recommendations.

The RFP does not specify a particular program office within MVA; therefore, this role will support agency-level leadership and cross-functional stakeholders as designated by the MVA Procurement Officer and Executive Leadership.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation, summaries, and presentation materials prepared for MDOT MVA are structured, professional, executive-ready, and aligned with the agency’s mission, operational environment, and customer service goals.

This position requires a disciplined, detail-oriented consultant who can support high-visibility executive engagements while maintaining rigorous document control, coordination, and research support throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and meeting materials for executive and management sessions
• Develop and format facilitation plans and draft meeting agendas
• Capture structured notes during leadership and management sessions
• Synthesize raw discussion notes into professional executive summaries
• Maintain document version control and centralized file management
• Format and refine Strategic Roadmap deliverables
• Develop PowerPoint briefings and presentation materials for Executive Leadership
• Support research related to customer experience strategy and training approaches (if Optional Task is activated)
• Track action items, risks, and follow-up requirements
• Ensure all documents are professionally formatted and executive-ready
• Support quality assurance reviews prior to submission of deliverables
